Travels

Mexico City ↔ Cuernavaca

Getting around locally within Mexico City and Morelos is very straightforward with Uber, making it an easy choice for short trips, sightseeing, and dining withing each city. However, for travel between Mexico City and Morelos, Maria and I strongly recommend using Pullman de Morelos rather than an Uber. They offer a comfortable, direct, and reliable executive coach service between the two regions and are definitely the hassle-free option for making the journey.

That being said, their website claims that the travel time betwen cities is only an hour long but that, I can assure you, is complete nonesense – expect at least 2 hours from departure. Also, they like to pump the AC so pull out a jumper or hoodie from your bag before making the trip.

Direct from Mexico City Airport (MEX) to Cuernavaca

For guests flying in and traveling directly to Cuernavaca, the direct airport bus remains the fastest and most convenient method.

  • Bus Line: Pullman de Morelos (Servicio Ejecutivo Dorado).
  • Ticket Counter Locations:
    • Terminal 1: Upper level (near the food court, Gate G / landside bus area).
    • Terminal 2: Ground floor, near the domestic bus area (Puerta 4).
  • Cost: Approx. $460 MXN (~$25–$27 USD) one-way.
  • Destination: Buy a ticket to Cuernavaca (Casino de la Selva).
  • Frequency & Transit Time: Departures every 30–45 minutes; journey takes ~2 hours.
  • Arrival: At the Casino de la Selva terminal you will find an authorized on-site taxi stand. However Uber will give better pricing.

Traveling from Mexico City (CDMX) to Cuernavaca

For guests spending a few days exploring CDMX (staying in Roma, Condesa, Polanco, Reforma, or Centro Histórico), the best route to Cuernavaca is taking the Pullman vans from the different spots in the city.

Getting to the Bus Station in CDMX

Take an Uber directly from your accomodation in Mexico City to any of the following locations:

ACCOMODATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Mexico City

If you are planning to explore Mexico City before or after the wedding weekend, we highly recommend making Polanco your home base. Known for its lush, tree-lined avenues and vibrant culture, Polanco is one of the city’s most charming, safe, and walkable neighborhoods. Maria and I can’t honestly recommend any single hotel in the area as we typically stay with friends when visiting the area. However this suburb offers an incredible selection of little boutique hotels and is world-renowned for its food and easy access to iconic cultural landmarks such as Chapultepec Park and the Museo Nacional de Antropología.

Polanco Restaurant Recommendations:

Brunch:
Buttery – French
Hacienda de los Morales – Traditional Mexican Food – They apparently do excellent dinners too!

Dinner:
Animal – Mexican Japanese fusion
Cambalache – Argentinian
Porfirio’s – Steakhouse with a Mexican Twist
